Well I guess you could say my husband loves me:) As i was wandering about the city in traffic with luke and layla in the car, it came to my realization that minneapolis has more bycicle riders on the street than they do cars, how did i come to this realization do you ask, layla happens to love them and is facinated by them, which results in her darting from one end of the car to the next trying to get them, I became frazzled with her barking and trying to get her to stop freaking out, luke crying from her loud bark and trying to still pay attention to city traffic and follow the gps at the same time. Finally i got home hauling lukes carseat and trying to stop layla from tripping me with her leash, up to the third floor. needless to say i was beat and had it not been for these roses waiting for my at my doorstep I may have had a mental breakdown. I just love my husband not only does he work hard but he takes time to make me feel special. I have the best husband ever.

Rub a dub dub

Luke absolutely loves bath time! every night at 7 I start getting him ready for bath and its like he knows whats coming, if he was crying and i lay him on his towel by the sink to undress him he becomes instantly happy. he could stay in all day if i let him, nevertheless bedtime routine must continue after bath so it enevitably always ends.

who's face?

So everyone keeps asking us which one of us he looks like, and i can honestly say i dont know! I guess we will have to wait till he gets older and settles in to his features. for now we can also say that he has the sweetest face and we cant seem to get enough of him.

this post is mainly for chris cause he had to leave last minute to minnesota for work till saturday, so im posting a pic of luke so he can get his fill. Me and luke love you chris and cant wait till you come home we miss you a ton and hope everything goes well for work! xoxoxoxoxo

LUKE'S BLESSING

Last sunday april 11th luke was blessed, his name is Luke Christopher Orvin and his dad was able to bless him, it was a beautiful blessing and i just love the 2 men in my life. I was so happy to look up there and see my husband bless our sweet little boy, if i could have had a glimpse into my life when i was younger and seen this moment i probably would'nt be able to believe how perfect my life would be.

I love this picture cause luke is missing one sock, which just captures how he is all the time cause his fast moving little feet can never seem to keep his socks on.

Chris's Birthday

I just wanted to publicly wish Chris a happy birthday, and just say how dang much I love this man!! he is absolutley perfect for me, I cant get enough of him and luckily he doesnt mind me being completly obsessed with him. I am so excited to have such a wonderful husband to raise our children with and to grow old with. I am so excited for the rest of eternity with him and just love him so much. I have to blog a funny story about him when luke was born so i will remeber it! the first night we went to bed and luke went to the nursery. at about 3 in the morning they brought him into nurse and in comes walking Chris. he had been in the nursery all night holding luke cause he was to excited to sleep. I just love how much he loves me and luke.

oh and this picture is him with his dog layla that i got him for christmas, she absolutly loves him and this is where she thinks she has to be when we are in the car.

lukes birthday

So Luke is finally here, it all started thursday the 18th when i started having bad contractions every 6 min apart. it lasted all day, so that night we went into the hospital and they said i hadnt changed any and sent me home. the next day they got worse and lasted all day long, so after doing some stuff at my moms to relieve some of the pain we decided to go back to the hospital because it wasnt working, they told me i hadnt changed but that they would check me again in an hour before they sent me home. i went from a 2 to a 2+ so they admitted me at 3 o clock saturday morning. i was so relieved to get the epidural, and i went to sleep for the rest of the night. when i woke up the nurse told me that the babys heart rate kept dropping, and that i had stopped dialating at a 7, he was posteriur, and then dr. lunt came in and told me he thought i needed to do a cesarian because they couldnt get me to go any further and they didnt know even if i did get to a 10 if he would make it through. so after a prayer and feeling it was the right thing to do me and chris were both prepped for a c section. 5 min later little luke came into the world. at 1:19 pm he weighed 7pounds 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Dr. lunt was awesome, the surgery went great, just a slow recovery. we are so greatful to have such a beautiful perfect little baby, we have been blessed so much i cant believe how much the lord has given to me and chris, I will always be so greatful for my little family.

the last 4 months in short.

Haha remember that time when i didnt blog in a really long time? It is in fact due in part to my overwhelming thought that my next post needed to be a picture of my growing belly, (because who wouldnt want to see perhaps the one not good thing about pregnancy) (who am i kidding there isnt much good about pregnancy, basically there is just the one good thing..... to have a baby at the end) so needless to say everytime i thought about taking a picture i became very bored with blogging, resulting in a minnie boycott of my own inner turmoils. Alas i will not post a picture, instead i will do a quick recap of what we have been up to since august. well we came home from indi early because of my extreme flu like symptoms... aka morning/24 hour sickness. we made the decision to leave in about 1 hour, so chris got home at 10 at night from a long work day packed the house loaded it into our car and about 1 in the morning we fled from indi. Chris drove all night so i could sleep in the car since everything made me puke at the time, 6 in the morning we got to bree and tylers in missouri and they were gracious enough to fill me full of bree's left over zofran let me rest a couple days, all the while feeding me and babying me. i just love them! then was our 24 hour drive home, which chris did without stopping to sleep and without any company from me because i slept the whole way, i just love him! so thats what brought us home, the next couple months goes as follows.... Jessica- august sept october, morning sickness, zofran,sleep, felt the baby for the first time, cheated and went up north to find out what we were having early, had our 2 year anniversary at the anniversary inn in salt lake, went to the SL temple for the first time, learned how to bottle peaches, pears, and apples (lots of them), began preparing for luke to come, and all the while am super excited for kense to get married this weekend.
Chris- everything from above, plus went to Alaska for 2 weeks for work, hung and built everything for lukes nursery while i just sit and watch, is a primary teacher without me, took very good care of me, and was VERY patient, started hunting in the mornings while im sleeping,and helped move my parents store.
needless to say we have been very busy, and im sure there is plenty i forgot to tell, but who cares, I get to see stacie and bree today!
